The video mailbag makes its long-awaited(?) return, with talk about bad TV revivals, great TV criers, and 'The Shield'

Today's What Else Is Alan Watching? bonus newsletter coming up just as soon as we pretend the Netflix seasons of Arrested Development never happened...
Let's have a chat
So, funny story... the return of my old Ask Alan video mailbag feature(*) from back in the days of HitFix (RIP) was supposed to be published on September 16, as one of the first offerings for what was then the one and only paid tier. Then events overtook that plan, and I've spent the past couple of weeks churning out lots of other stories.
(*) Did you know that many (all?) of the original videos are still on YouTube? Enjoy glimpses of the office I worked out of 10 years ago!
But I promised bonus content for people who have subscribed to the top What Else Is Alan Watching? tier (which, in addition to periodic extra posts like this, also gives you access to chat with me and other TV obsessives at our Discord), and I aim to deliver. So Ask Alan is back in a lo-fi version, where I'm working solo, rather than with a group of video producers and editors. You can email me questions for a future segment. The videos start after the break, touching on the legacy of The Shield, TV actors with memorable on-camera crying fits, and whether we should punish old shows when their revivals aren't up to snuff.
Coming up next on the bonus tier: the first of a two-part look at Shows That Don't Exist.
